You and I

I collect words and memories, thread as coloured-glass beads upon chain
I drink moonlight and the sunset's elixir until I'm merry and mildly insane
I devour, with empathy, others' sorrow until my positive-hued thoughts imbrue
I see windows of broken rainbows in your eyes,
with no pots of gold... just blue

You only see the darkling encroach, a daemonic dragon disturbed from its lair
You abuse a vast spectrum of potent poisons, seeking out self-loathing and despair
You rip repeatedly with your toxic-tinged tongue, at the fragility of my being
You are the epitome of incompatibility but love's astral-balance depends not, upon seeing

We'll smelt our doubts and differences in the fireless forge of our bodies entwined
We'll taste, from the wounds of each other, until our star-traversed souls are aligned
We'll walk upon dreams, with caution, knowing duplicity's jeopardy may await
We'll carry each other's fears and frivolities until divine interfusion becomes fate
