Free Spirit

Wild
Free
To roam

Façade (Fibonacci Poem)

Façade

Ache
Void
Lonely
Heartbroken
Bereft of hope; Love
Fate has not been a friend to her
Dreams, caged deep within her heart! Facade fixed and adorned!

Smudged

life A’s Tapestries

The rich tapestry of life is appliquéd with music and laughter
Beautified by love, fulfilment, solace and belonging
Darned with alcohol or our vice of preference
Torn through anguish, grief, jealousy, hate and despair

Illuminated with vivid threads of hope, dreams, poetry and wonder
Patched with loyalty and dedication of friends and family
Decorated with vanity and our propensity for ego-driven pursuits
Embellished through hindsight, desire and wishful thinking
Embroidered with depictions of heartbreak, rapture and memories

The Warp; it is the sin and regret hidden discreetly beneath the weft
The Weft; it is the moment of achievement and pride for all to see
These interlaced threads pass back and forth as doth fate through time
The artistry; exhibiting emblems of trust, kindness and peace
Delicately woven in are allegories open to the voyeur's interpretation
When completed it is adorned upon the walls of endless time
A magnificent record of existence for all there to perceive

Words (Fibonacci Poem)

Words
Words
Flow
Through pen
Aimlessly
Upon wanton page
Endless, obscure, ramblings set free
Falling from her troubled mind into the great abyss

The Perfect Disguise (Fibonacci Poem)

The Perfect Disguise

Lust
Need
Rapture
Desire burns
She needs to be touched
Hedonism rules her fantasies
The lost, shy girl; demeanour is the perfect disguise!

What lies beneath and behind enduring love?

What lies beneath and behind enduring love?

A rock that can be manipulated and sculpted but does not chip
A tree bough that supports life and can bend but does not break
A diet that sustains but also provides nutrients needed to thrive
A well that never dries up but needs to be replenished
A signpost that gives a choice but still guides you home
A contradiction, a promise, a secret, a surprise!
A drink that intoxicates but also quenches thirst
A child in its naivety, providing wisdom in its actions
A song that resonates, marks a memory and becomes a friend
A pair of old, worn, comfy slippers; welcomed as the day ends
An addiction that either makes or breaks you!
An act of forgiveness, acceptance, trust, appreciation and respect
Love is all of these things and more
However without it, of one thing I'm sure.
Life would have been only an experience and not truly felt by my soul!

Forest (Fibonacci Poem)

Forest

Let's
get
lost, deep
in our own
imagination.
Beneath cascading forest light
Where elves and pixies do play; let's regress to childhood

Tousled hair

Her inner thighs hum with shameless anticipation

Nourish

Breast
Mouth
Suckle
Babe in arms
Most precious cargo
Nourish, protect, love and caress
Eye to eye, soul to soul; forever bonded in time

Tresses (Fibonacci Poem)

 Tresses

Numb
ears
Shiver
Howling wind
Frost bite fingertips
Buffeted cheeks; icicle nose
Her raven tresses heedlessly tango with the wind

Droplets

She sits awkwardly huddled in a corner of a back street, run down, ramshackled cafe
Hiding from the world that she finds so intolerably unfair and so deeply cruel
Disheveled and damp from her encounter with the sky... that just would not wait

Her gaze wanders wistfully and becomes transfixed upon the dirty windows where the rain droplets descend
Using her headphones in order to retreat further, she tunes into the music where she wishes to escape
Immediately she is baffled and hypnotised by how the melody makes the rain drops fervently dance
Pirouetting, cascading, tumbling gracefully towards one another where they briefly have a dalliance and merge;
dividing, multiplying, creating reflective tracks... patterns within the grime that lingers there

Within her is stirred an ugly intense emotion from which she is captive and wishes to be set free
The droplets fall slowly, effortlessly; if only like them, she too could flow without fear
The aroma of the sweet coffee fills the air; she closes her eyes to be alone with her thoughts
The melody intensifies, hairs bristle on her neck; infact she swears she can hear the cello cry...
the slender, sensual bow torturing the cello with its relentless, rhythmic sweet caress

Her heart begins to palpitate and, of her breathing, she becomes paranoid and acutely conscious
The music engulfs her and smothers her, leaving her spluttering and gasping for breath
She must leave here, she cannot stay... there is no solace to be found for her here

Unfed, she flees the cafe and rejoins the rain and its welcomed cold, stark reality check
Her pace quickens; she knows not from what she is running or indeed running to
Wind through her hair, moisture on her cheeks, she is invigorated... she is once again alive

Her stomach untwists and her thoughts rewind, to a place that she once considered home
His eyes burn in her brain and she searches for him hopelessly in the crowds, delusional and in vain
Her head aches; her mind, it spins... how could he, why, what else could she have done?
Was this always to be her fate; her destiny to walk these lonely, unforgiving streets alone?

His ghost haunts her heart, steals the pleasure from each day; even sours and spoils the food that she tastes
She is lost, yet wants never to be found, as to forget him would be unbearable... the greatest
 tragedy of all
She hears herself cry out his name but it's futile... as the wind and the music carry her cry gently away

At One (Fibonacci Poem)

At One

At
one
with trees
Energy
Wisdom seeps like sap
Archaic spirals of time spent
Expelling air to breathe and bearing fruit to nourish

Desire (Fibonacci Poem)

Desire

Pulls
her
towards
his lust; need
She yearns and he aches
Slowly their two forms become one
Entwined, lost within each other's intoxication

Small (Fibonacci Poem)

We are all but spiders; the tweets/posts our weave within the web! :)

Small

One,

small,
tiny
spider spins.
Insignificant
in the realms of the universe?
Not if the web is woven with empathy, hope; love

Groove
Rhythm
Bassline Riff
Hypnotic; goose bumps
Effervescent, infectious beat
Its motion, vibrating through my body like a train

A Journey in Literacy

A Journey in Literacy

When we travelled in metaphors;
we got lost in the irony

So we followed the map of allegory
and deciphered the route of an anagram

Then we refuelled with amplification
but the prices were hyperbole

Next we accelerated through alliteration;
saving time skipping through asyndeton

Only to break down after the first stanza;
so we then hitched a ride with an Archetype

Carry On (Fibonacci Poem)

Carry On

On
edge
Struggle
Tightrope; fear
Walking on eggshells
Dodging oncoming obstacles
Avoiding the inevitable calamity

Numb

If only I knew how I felt but yet I say "relieved"
Who knows, who cares, but all I could do was leave
Maybe it's all in God's big design
Pawns fashioned into us, mankind
Coincidence, fate, karma or convenient excuse
Why is it that only pain acts as my clarification muse?

Times have passed and times will come
All I can do is journey on
Through the highs, the lows and across the plains
Erasing and suppressing the emotion that has stained
Just as you think you've got it right
Along comes more arduous and sleepless nights

An '80s Mother's Cure (Fibonacci Poem)

An '80s Mother's Cure

Ill
sick,
poorly;
feel like death?
In need of comfort?
Soup, Lucozade, blanket and TLC.
You'll be - 'as fit a fiddle', 'right as rain'; just you see!

Cherish (Fibonacci Poem)

Cherish

Youth
For
granted,
never take
anything of worth.
Once gone, never revisited
Beauty, innocence, fertility, wonder and awe

Chronic Pain (Fibonacci Poem)

Chronic Pain

Sears
Throbs
Cripples
Isolates
Mentally torments
Wavers for no one; no respite
Holds the inflicted hostage within his own body

The Test

The Test

If my soul was bare
or I bared to you my soul
Would you clothe me in your sweet protection?

If my body was given
or I gave to you my body
Would you reciprocate and cherish with affection?

If my heart was broken
or I broke my heart to you
Would you mend and fix the dissection?

If my mind was worried
or I told you my worries
Would you help me, giving your contemplation?

If my self was lost
or I was to lose my self in you
Would you guide and teach me navigation?

Could you; can you be trusted not to mock?
Would you; will you forever be my rock?

Tie
Dress code
Uniform
Hard hat, overalls
Take off; shroud of conformity
Fly free as a bird; in your true untainted splendour

Futility

Futility

Time gently falls and empties within our own individual hourglass of life
Its sand penetrates sharply, our exposed war wounds of love as deep as a knife
The sun never fails to rise and the breeze temporarily soothes the pain
The ocean waves mesmerise with warnings of that, which we know we should refrain
The dawn birds bring us welcomed solace with their melodic, innocent, heartfelt song
Oh how do we continually manage to misconstrue the obvious and get things so wrong?

Nymph
Goddess
Sensual
allure; hypnotic!
Beneath the iridescent waves,
Sirens call; watery dalliance with death awaits

Snowflakes, fire, waterfalls, the sea
Sunsets, bubbles, butterflies; all wondrous, all free!

Absurdities

Fluorescent lighting has been blamed
Effervescent young that won't be tamed
Adolescents have been named and shamed

Features of modern day life that we need to tackle
Teachers feeling that their job is merely to herd cattle
Preachers appear to be losing the 'choose good' battle

Diets have been scrutinised, limited, changed and disregarded
Giants of media are quick to point their fingers; surmising where it started
Riots against police, the government and global powers have been targeted

Where eventually will this chaos, hate, intolerance, 'blame culture' absurdity end
Care and consideration are what's needed; truly being a neighbour, comrade, friend
Fair laws, 'playing fields', are required; love, peace, empathy, compassion... in order to mend

to their pure opinions and thoughts;
untainted by ego, money, status and knowledge

Frustrated (Fibonacci poem)

Frustrated

She
craves
his touch
from afar
His swagger dazzles
Promise of satin sheet nights, tease
His physique beckons; she's left frustrated and aroused
