Brotherhood

Forged in steel is hatred,
bigotry remains outdated
When will we surmise the "greater good";
be as one, in brotherhood?

Are we to be blinded by mere material gain?
Has the world really become so insane?
Surely we cherish our loved ones more than this
or are we to wallow, solely, in material bliss?

Please, people of the the world, come and unite;
forgo this madness and refuse to fight
Haven't we lost too many brothers;
widowing, ripping apart... hearts of mothers?

If only in unity we could stand,
learning to empathise and to understand
Wouldn't we at last find peace and be whole,
clear our consciences... find our souls?

Imagine a world full of empathy,
where our children can at last be free;
to experience everything that life has to give
In love and safety, we all... can live

Leaned Nothing?

Ransacked, pillaged,
burned is my village
Hoofs upon a beach,
revenge I beseech
Silver pieces; I cannot be bought;
for my life, I will and have fought
I taste in the air dominant death;
confident in my sword's prowess and breadth
Pagan versus the blood of Christ,
into war I am baptised

Setting a precedent of things to come;
many have died, defending kingdoms
Have we learned nothing from history?
Maiming, murdering... causing misery
Here lies the relics where I stand
...and yet we still do not understand,
that our brother is all of mankind
Our heritage, is surely to empathise;
that no bloodshed is ever ordained in grace
... a stark reality we have yet to face

Muted

in the echoes of us
I still, hear myself chime
- muted rainbow-dreams

Premonition

Craving to be normal,
not racked with vine-like pain
Untangling riddled thoughts
...feeling quite insane

Troubled is my heart;
mirroring our world of duplicity
Drowning in pretence
needing just... simplicity

Wanting to be saved
by a love without condition
I know, for sure, it's out there
...I've had a premonition

Oh, wrap your healing heart
around my wounded soul
Please save me from my self
make me... once again, whole
