Enlightenment

Care not I for who is deemed either wrong or right
Therefore competion is at dire odds with me
Without bad versus good, would we ever need fight?
Surely without either, we would all be then free
Righteousness often labelled as what is pure light
Whilst darkness is attached to demonic prowess
Can either be without the other’s existence?
Is darkness, not light, in state of pure undress?
Aren’t they entwined, as in us; have coexistence?
Isn’t fighting our own darkness, the hardest test?
Does one quell the other; have total resistance?

No, of course not; from darkness to light we evolve
From what once was darkness, erupted the big bang
From dark earth to sunlight is a seedlings resolve
In Chinese philosophy they’ve the Yin and Yang
From within the womb, aren’t we all born into light?
Upon chess board, wouldn’t all the pawns be then the same?
Let’s then cleanse our perceptions and birth a new sight
Meet each other with empathy; replace the blame
Let’s concede that it is a spectrum made of slights
Let’s not condemn our sisters and brothers; then wrong
Acknowledge, in each other, both darkness and light
Born from one to the other; in enlightenment belong

So with blame removed; darkness and light accepted
Wouldn’t the human race then have love perfected?

When I Was Five.

When I was five I’d pretend to be
A salty pirate upon the sea
Using Mum’s food ladle for my hook
And on treasure hunts, I’d test my luck.

Our washing basket, a ship to me
When I was five I’d pretend to be
A mermaid with silk pillowcase tail
Vibrantly Ariel’s song I’d wail.

Sticky stars and glitter hearts on face
Custard pie tin bra... still love the taste
When I was five I’d pretend to be
An astronaut in strange galaxies.

Blast off to space in my cardboard box
Colander helmet completed look
In Dads giant space boots... I’d roam free
When I was five I’d pretend to be.

The Seasons Of Our Love

In the spring of our love, you carefully cocooned my lonesome-leaded heart
Kindly cascaded blossoms of beautiful balmed words, my mind so longed to hear
Your sweet, seductive warm winds lifted, gently, the corners of my paper-thin scored skin
Precious promises of twinned flames' eternal, all enveloping embrace, lingered lucently there
Soothing shared showers of adoring affection rejuvenated, tenderly, my ashen-saddened spirit
I felt, once again, alive in a delicious deluge of demonstrative desire
My tight brittle buds began to taste, blindfolded with trepidation, the tremulous trust of truth;
unfurling subconsciously within our ethereal essence of lucid liquid light... there our love it grew

In the summer of our love we basked blissfully in the heat, hedonistically, entwined in heavenly dreams
We ate, endlessly, Eve's fruit of Eden... heedlessly, without paying attention, to its punishable price
Swam nonchalantly naked in the full moon's reflection; silken-stars sequining, subtly, our sin
Meandered merrily through meadows of consciousness... barefoot, beguiled and free
Danced deliriously to the birds' dawn chorus before they spirited us swiftly to sleep
There in the bosom of benevolence, in the solace of soliloquy, my soul's serenade you did sing
Our love-smelted smouldering, betwixt and bonded, beneath the sun's fierce fire... forged were we
Needing naively, playing profusely in our diaphanous dalliance of a jewelled daydream

In the autumn of our love, hallowed hues deepened, mellowed, weakened in their primeval  prowess
Honey-tasting merry memories, so much sweeter as the days' bowing branches undressed
The listless leaves of lies littered the ground, weeping woefully underfoot... began to wilt
Their strong siblings twisted, triumphantly tilted, clinging chaotically to ideals which they faithfully held
Rare reluctant rays of sunshine, heralding halcyon days of frivolity, which we had not contemplated would end
Our embers of empathy still burned blatantly, in the tawny tones of Fall's painter's palette
So we huddled harder, voiced vivaciously love louder, refused to weakly wander... left no room for ruthless regret
Stoically, we stocked up love's larder, gave thanks to the Father and now, gratefully, with the twilight of our love... we are mercifully met.

In the winter of love, will we fear our fragility or be humbled with humility?
Will we cherish wisely or be anaesthetised by apathy, dancing soberly into death's darkling demise?
I hope we heed and hold on together tighter, become fearless fighters, defending our lifelong treasured love to the end
I pray we weather the storms gracefully, give of ourselves unconditionally... become the most sacred of infinite friends
My wish is that we transcend life's tragedies, explore all of her mysteries and rejoice in our lessons learned
That our love will flourish and will indeed nourish all the silent, secluded parts of our innermost souls
As with our roots firmly planted, we'll not be supplanted and we'll bloom once more, cometh a reincarnate new morn
So, although seasoned, we'll have jubilant reasons to be joyous as, on our love... life did not taketh its toll

Firework Flashbacks.

This time of year I so despise
It drains the colour from his eyes
A time which should be full of fun
He's tortured... by the sound of guns

He hits the deck he dislocates
Flashes back to a place of hate
Taking cover beneath a chair
World thrown into chaos... despair .

To him he's back in lands afar
With roadside bombs and burnt out cars
Strewn body parts... the stench of death
Rocks back and forth... struggles for breath.

His kids look on in horror... fear
It gets no easier with the years
Their hero dad reduced to this
To comfort him our only wish.

But we can't make it go away
For loud fireworks are here to stay
And they'll sound out to the New Year
With little thought for our... spent tears.

Poet Knight

Please chime for me, oh one of pale moon face
Afar but near, ‘neath same celestial sky
Please come for me, oh Poet Knight; make haste

Words chaste with love, pen... darling make me ache
In ink silk sheets, together let us lie
Please chime for me, oh one of pale moon face

Reach for me, with quilled moonbeams’ warm embrace
Light trails of love, your words doth to me fly
Please come for me, oh Poet Knight; make haste

Read to me, fore fair dawn doth show her face
Moist satin verse, from page your pen has dyed
Please chime for me, oh one of pale moon face

Bequeath mine eyes, a sparkle with your grace
My Polaris, purloin my heart... my sighs
Please come for me, oh Poet Knight; make haste

Let not, my love, our stellar love now waste
Without your love, I fear that I may die
Please chime for me, oh one of pale moon face
Please come for me, oh Poet Knight; make haste

Dylan Thomas

Sixty-six years and one day, dear poet, since you slipped into the good night
Forever leaving us to nestle in the tall, happy green-bladed fields of Fern Hill
Painting our minds violet with characters’ vivacious, innermost voices
In ”Under Milk Wood” which you never, yourself, tragically managed to record
Opening our eyes up to the joyous beauty of nature strewn all around us
As you lulled us with rhyming, rhythmic, lyrical lilts of chiming language

You had a gift so bright that it consumed you and “set fire to the stars”
Begging us, like you, to wring every last drop out of our lives
To rage against death to which you, ironically, sadly succumbed too soon
Your childlike soul evident in your words, reminding us of the wonder in everything

Manchild, raving drunk; yes but also a talent revered even within your lifetime
A voice of deep dramatic velvet tones which on every word the audience hung
Left for us to wallow in its emotive essence and its crystal startling imagery, still
No you didn't tread as gently in life as perhaps you ought
To you the silvered glints of old age; they never came; they failed to cage you

There's no denying your poetry prowess but as so often with genius, sanity was fraught
Dear ”son of the sea”, fine poet of Wales, you'll
forever rage in our hearts
And sing in our minds in starstrung poetic, hypnotic anthems of golden gilt verse

When Mars Was Ours

When Mars was ours and all of time stood still
Talking hours and hours perched on windowsills
When the star-paved sky was a bridge to you
That I’d cross in dreams to be close to you
When Mars was ours and all of time stood still

Now here we are, physically, side by side
Further apart... “I love you” feels like lies
Did I do something wrong... has our love died?
As Mars no longer burns... within your eyes

When Mars was ours and all of time stood still
As we signed in love with a moonbeam’s quill
Did you forget... how lost we were apart?
Is my heart now caught... still your work of art?
When Mars was ours and all of time stood still

Thought we'd always be; never get our fill
Yet here I am... alone; missing you... still!

Belong

With each misguided step, we take,
we get closer to our goal
Upon life's ladder of misfortune,
ironically, it appears...
we must break, before appreciating whole

The dark and light they compliment,
there is solace in the grey
Hatred and fear; for God... religions war
...there must be another way

So take my hand, my poetic friend
and with words, we'll soothe the cracks
Then wounds... they will heal,
enlightenment... will reveal;
They'll be no longer a need, for wisdom, to look back

For with this glue, of our kindred bond,
like-minded others we'll attract
Together as one, we'll embrace the world,
the hatred we'll extract

Sharing words of peace, sharing words of love
encouraging the world, through poetry... to get along
Then in a world awash with new empathy
...we can ALL finally belong

Gingerbread Heart

My heart is not a game
Please be careful... with its pieces
Maybe I'm not right... insane
Or maybe I'm just too aware of what life teaches

Trapped in relentless pain
Trembling wings... too scared to unfurl
My pure heart, I cannot tame
I just want to love... be loved and appreciated

Simple... is all I need
I have no need... for words... cryptic
Just need your love, not to wane
Listen to what my soul’s light, inside of me... preaches

Perhaps I should refrain
From these, my soul purged words... pledges
Yet I know you want... the same
It’s carried on the waves... the wind; your heart... it reaches

Are you here to remain?
Or to paint my echo... deftly
Is your heart true... feels the same
Or thirsty... intrigued; If so, mercy...I beseech you

I am no empty frame
Please do not... misunderstand me
My sweetness... it is not feigned
My gingerbread heart crumbles... as love ... it releases

So if it's... as you claim
Within your words of rhyme... rearranged
Please no longer... be restrained
Don't leave our precious love, unrequited... felt... speechless

My First Taste Of Winter Snow

From beneath,
I watch the snowflakes dance diligently
Winter's graceful fire flies,
hovering around the lamp light's amber glow
My eyelashes,
adorned with wet,
glistening,
glittering jewels
Crimson cheeks and cold violet nose...
violently painted;
vibrant brushstrokes of the biting breeze,
leave a blushing
almost
...bruise

Silently...
I look on,
as the fields are gently blanketed in a still...
shimmering, snowy beauty
Cars and roads,
draped dramatically,
in a thick alabaster,
velvet veil
I witness the trees trimmed,
in winter's bespoke ball gowns of spectacular,
stitched sequins
An archaic scene of sublime winter wonder...
a vivid vision of awe...
my eyes will,
never
...forget

The wailing winds,
fill my ears as they echo
...eerily
all around me
Crisp white snow
underfoot,
sings out its stark,
staccato song
I watch as everything before me is iced in fine,
fanciful icing sugar
Coated in winter's ashen...
aesthetic...
majestic...
mesmerising...
fairy-dust
my first taste of winter's
stunning,
...snow fall

Lunar Lighthouse

Beneath the stars, we’re not alone
Whispers of light, we feel at home
Our stardust eyes spiral the sun
Fibonacci souls with hearts undone
Beneath the stars, we’re not alone

Lunar lighthouse with haloed head
Warm moonbeam arms, her comfort lends
To us, she speaks, she is our friend
Her boundless love, it knows no end
Lunar lighthouse with haloed head

Ancient wisdom, it chimes... resounds
In silent tongues, love’s essence loud
For those who listen, gifts profound
Celestial glow, perspective’s found
Ancient wisdom, it chimes... resounds

Greed’s darkness breeds hate’s undertows
Beneath the stars, we’re not alone
Please teach us love to flow instead
Lunar lighthouse with haloed head
In empathy, hope... let’s be bound
Ancient wisdom, it chimes... resounds

Please...

Please don't reach out to me again
For I am dead and veiled in pain
No more am I... nothing remains
Blood tears I’ve rained; blood tears I’ve rained

Yet still, I’m naked in your eyes
Crave only flesh; my soul’s disguise
You will not probe where my heart lies
Cruel lust seeks high; cruel lust seeks high.

I dare not turn and glance at you
As blushed my face with thoughts of you
For I want more; a love made true
You don't... I do; you don't... I do.

You'll tell me what I want to hear
Whisper sweet nothings in my ear
Rip old wounds open... brand and sear
I taste my fear; I taste my fear.

For you will not be satisfied
Until you’re deep between my thighs
Carving new scars upon insides
Sharp knife-edged lies; sharp knife-edged lies.

With heart ripped out; now at your feet
I beg you please... this time retreat
My bones picked clean won’t quench your greed
Yet still, you feed; yet still, you feed.

Sever each fibre of my heart
My slow dissection is your art
Flay soul from body; tear apart
Words... arsenic darts; words... arsenic darts.

From this charred corpse, I’ll breathe again
Feel days cast black and writhe insane
From torturing me you'll not refrain
You need... my pain; you need... my pain.

Tangerine Dreams

From gramophone starfish and sirens rise
They float drift free on tangerine lit waves
Towards the moon through Wendy’s window eyes
Turtle salutes with rainbow wayward gaze
For he has seen from shell the world evolve
Mosaic blasts of planets in his eyes
In starfish beats and siren wails dissolves
Beyond my sight he plods in ink spilled skies
Neath bone skull moon suspends the mobile stars
Entrancing tune hypnotic sight spins on
Forever lost am I with anchored heart
Both babies hands and broken hearts reach long

Where are you now my Peter Pan dual heart?
With glowworm thread can I be stitched... restart?
