An Irish Eve

Guinness in hand, we start to swig
The pub is full for the shindig
Borhan is played; begins the jig
In Irish rig, in Irish rig

Still spoken here, ancient Gaelic
Rich language sings its rhetoric
A country proud; a maverick
Fervent Celtic, fervent Celtic

We have a "crack" and a giggle
Hypnotically, transcends fiddle
Emotions stir; lovers kindle
The night dwindles, the night dwindles

It's Not Too Late!

As we drown in floods of our own making
When the ice caps melt and sea levels rise
Will we then understand or be surprised?

As we smother in air not fit to breathe
When the atmosphere becomes too unclean
Will we then wish that we'd have taken heed?

*Now* let's change our ways before it's too late
Make alternative energy; less waste
Otherwise, I fear this may be our fate...
