Kaleidoscope Mind

The day has gone the mist has cleared
the wind whispers... her tortured tears
A pearlescent moon hangs lonesome tonight
In a jet black sky of silken waves of light

Midnight's arm, around my shoulder clings
His cool night-air kisses, ease so many things
...all my anguish and torments of the day
Oh, for eternal night I hope and pray

Within the night's small hours, I can just be
When day's distraction-veil lifts, I am set free
To dream and travel my kaleidoscope mind
Never knowing just what I'll find...

Lilac Sky

lilac winter sky
scared with tortured tree fingers
bowing to the breeze
beholden to its mercy
as day's supplanted by eve

Dew

As dew so deftly clings, so does your love
Jewels of you adorn my every thought
Drenched in memories; your touch, I think of
I crave your taste; addicted, I am caught

Love's so ethereal, it can't be held
Merely glanced upon; worship I, its view
Elusive; only when night and dawn meld
Our hours of dalliance, there are too few

You quench a need in me, no other could
You cleanse my vision, make mine eyes anew
Your drops of wisdom whisper that I should...
But, my once rainbow skies now darkling blue

I wonder, will your love hence prove to save
Or my slow death, so delicately pave?

Fate

Oh what mortality is
to those whom feel immortal
...all a mere handshake of fate

...Of You

In your arms of warm waves... you cradle me
Upon your soul's sweet breeze... I am set free
Your body protects... with its vast sand-dunes
Your serene eyes are made of... skies in June

Exhilarating... your sheer cliffs of love
Comforting... your gentle cloud-smile above
Replenishing... your well of words and thoughts
Within your broad branches of dreams... I'm caught

Your rocks, beneath my faint feet... keep me strong
The earth of you echoes... we don't have long
I inhale, I savour the scent of you
Your flavour I taste... in the morning dew

Angel Baby

A baby born... yet still asleep
No gentle breath... for her they weep
Mother cradles her little head
So perfectly formed and yet dead

An angel fallen, from the sky
Lies so peaceful, she does not cry
Her nursery... an empty void
Her silent crib... bereft of joy

A mother... and yet still to be
A near father... brought to his knees
Together... only a short while
Now sympathies, where should be smiles

With dreams and hopes, they did invest
Each year goes by... they mourn no less
The precious bond they shared was real
Her existence... they'll not conceal

An "Angel baby"... missed each day
For safe keeping, they still... do pray
For their love for her, is timeless
Each second spent with her... priceless

Fantasy

Pipe me a lullaby
Elicit slumber's grace
Evoke in me memories... I fear my life will not contain
From fantasising... I know I should refrain
...yet your milky-way eyes, cannot disguise
The need I have that burns inside

Court me, from your crystalline eyes, a glance
Woo me, with your velveteen words of romance
Kiss my skin and make it dance
Pierce my heart with love's true lance

Your truck-bed crammed with quilts and silks, for us to lay upon
A picnic packed with fruits of love, on which to dine... become undone
With promises from the heavens above... clear summer's sequinned skies
Your jacket laced with sweet cologne, bare chested... wanton emerald eyes

Our destination...
lake, nighttime-swimming,
wooden row-boating,
sky-lantern lighting
beach-fires burning
...midnight, star gazing

Oh darling... take me under the stars and fill me with your love
Deep down, I know though fantasy, may never... be enough

Sleepily

Sleepily the fields do lay
gently cloaked, at break of day
Cascading mist; serene hills
Barn-owl's call... whistling shrill

The sky turns, from blue to red
Sunlight winks o'er forest head,
swallowed by the valley's mouth
Full-moon setting... high in South

Lost... Are We

Lost... are we
in life's labyrinth of obscurity
...longing to be free

We dislocate as "me"
anaesthetised by armoured apathy
lost... are we

Tethered by fear's filigree
greed opaques grace's divinity
...longing to be free

We no longer see
cloned through conditioned, banality
lost... are we

We've become enlistees
following orders and fallacies
...longing to be free

Where lies our destiny
entrenched in war and misery?
Lost... are we
...longing to be free
