Brotherhood

Forged in steel is hatred,
bigotry remains outdated
When will we surmise the "greater good";
be as one, in brotherhood?

Are we to be blinded by mere material gain?
Has the world really become so insane?
Surely we cherish our loved ones more than this
or are we to wallow, solely, in material bliss?

Please, people of the the world, come and unite;
forgo this madness and refuse to fight
Haven't we lost too many brothers;
widowing, ripping apart... hearts of mothers?

If only in unity we could stand,
learning to empathise and to understand
Wouldn't we at last find peace and be whole,
clear our consciences... find our souls?

Imagine a world full of empathy,
where our children can at last be free;
to experience everything that life has to give
In love and safety, we all... can live
